Reporting to the Director, Indirect Procurement, the Manager, Indirect Procurement is responsible for leading strategic sourcing, category management, supplier negotiations, and procurement planning across assigned indirect spend categories. The role ensures the delivery of value for money, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and supplier performance while supporting organizational objectives and procurement governance requirements. A key focus of the role is developing UAE National talent through structured coaching and capability-building plans to enable independent category management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business and procurement objectives.
- Prepare and maintain category plans for assigned sub-categories in collaboration with Finance and key stakeholders.
- Define sourcing methodologies and execution strategies and secure alignment from leadership and business functions.
- Establish category performance targets and monitor progress against savings, value creation, and procurement objectives.
- Execute, monitor, and report on the Annual Procurement Plan, including budgets, timelines, savings, and value delivered.
- Analyze category spend, demand patterns, and procurement trends to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Conduct market intelligence and supplier analysis to support strategic sourcing decisions.
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, tendering processes, supplier evaluations, and contract awards.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement in developing evaluation criteria and assessing supplier proposals.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of supplier contracts and service agreements.
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve procurement processes and sourcing efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance standards, and Delegation of Authority requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and address commercial, contractual, and operational issues.
- Track and report procurement KPIs and category performance to leadership.
- Mentor, coach, and develop team members and UAE National talent to strengthen procurement capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) and/or CIPS certification is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of procurement experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience managing indirect procurement categories within a large and complex organization.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
- Strong experience leading competitive tendering processes and delivering procurement savings.
- Solid understanding of procurement best practices, governance frameworks, and sourcing methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience in developing procurement talent and leading high-performing teams.
