About the role
Schroders’ Client Group partners with institutional clients (e.g., pension funds, insurance companies, foundations) and intermediaries (e.g., private banks and other distribution partners) to build long-term relationships and support their investment needs across Schroders’ capabilities in public and private markets.
As an intern in our Zurich office, you will support Relationship Managers and their Sales Support Specialist as well as internal stakeholders across investment, client service, product and marketing teams. You will help deliver high-quality servicing and business development support and gain hands-on exposure to the client lifecycle within a global asset manager.
What you will do
- Support the sales team in the daily monitoring and coverage of the dedicated inbox, handle and flag tasks accordingly with the right stakeholders in order to deliver pertinent and time-sensitive answers to internal and external stakeholders
- Help prepare accurate and timely responses to ad-hoc client requests (including performance, product and market-related updates) in coordination with relevant specialists and teams across the firm
- Support daily client flow management and trading activities by helping Relationship Managers identify trades in internal systems, ensuring client orders are correctly identified, followed up on, accepted and booked (including accurate reallocation where required)
- Support RFP / DDQ processes by managing different internal stakeholders, planning deliveries, and ensuring quality control
- Support the tracking of monthly as well as quarterly client documentation in line with group tools and reporting requirements
- Support client events and engagement activities (planning, logistics, materials, follow-up)
- Assist with reporting and documentation, helping to maintain accurate internal records and management reporting
- Use Salesforce and other internal tools to support pipeline visibility, meeting preparation and accurate record-keeping (as applicable)
- Work in collaboration with the marketing hub to support tasks leading up to internal and external webinars as well as to follow-up on dedicated actions after the webinars, actions include post-meeting mailings, dissemination of ad-hoc information and analysis of the participant base
- Actively assist teams across the group with timely tracking of connected campaigns within Salesforce, manage contacts and lists and amend where necessary to reflect requests received by the sales team
Who we’re looking for
- Final-year student or recent graduate (BA/MA) in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field with strong academic results
- First relevant internship experience in financial services, asset management, investment banking, consulting, marketing or a related environment
- Strong interest in investments and capital markets, with curiosity across both public and private markets
- English is a must (written and verbal). German and/or French are an asset
- Strong Outlook and Excel skills as well as PowerPoint skills; ability to turn information into clear and convincing client materials (data visualisation is a plus)
- Strong organisational skills, ability to multi-task with multiple internal stakeholders and work towards deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Client-oriented mindset, high quality standards for deliveries and exceptional attention to detail
- Proactive, reliable team player with strong interpersonal skills and an ownership mentality
- Eligible to work in Switzerland for the full duration of the internship
