POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an Accounting Intern responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the Accounting department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide exemplary, detail-oriented administrative support services to The Scalo Companies

- Primary emphasis on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Bank Account Reconciliation and month end close process

- Work in a fast-paced environment with monthly and weekly deadlines

- Complete accounting functions through various computer programs and working heavily in the MS Office package.

- Ability to learn new software such as Timberline, Timberscan

- Respond to employee and customer inquiries in a timely manner and with a friendly, professional demeanor in a team environment.

- Miscellaneous administrative functions as assigned.

- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

- Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Must be able to work between 20-40 hours a week between 8 AM and 5 PM

- Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college, working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. New graduates are eligible to apply

- Reliability, honesty, and dependability

- Permissible background check including passing drug screen and work-related references

- Possess customer care focus and have ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

- Willingness to learn and provide assistance to all operational personnel –with willingness/enthusiasm to handle other tasks as necessary

- Ability to work independently and within a team effectively.

- Possess a strong sense of accountability and high work standards.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on accuracy and details

- Ability to work general business hours with occasional overtime hours due to business needs (Monthly financial statement preparation, end of month closing preparation, etc.)
