## Job Title: Lab Assistant – Milk Quality Testing
Location: Tumkur
### Role Objective
To ensure milk quality and safety at the Bulk Milk Chilling (BMC) level by conducting quality tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
### Key Responsibilities

1. Milk Quality Testing

- Conduct daily tests including Fat, SNF, MBRT, adulteration, preservatives, and antibiotic checks .
- Maintain accuracy and consistency in quality assessments.

2. Data Management

- Systematically record milk quality parameters and test results .
- Prepare and submit reports to the BMC In-charge .

3. Equipment Operation & Maintenance

- Operate and maintain lactometers, Ekomilk analyzers, and other testing equipment .
- Regularly calibrate tools to ensure precise results.

4. Hygiene & Safety Standards

- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the lab, equipment, and BMC.
- Follow best practices in milk handling and quality assurance .

5. Farmer Coordination

- Educate farmers on milk quality parameters and best storage practices .
- Provide constructive feedback to enhance milk quality.

6. Compliance & SOP Adherence

- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for testing and storage.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational guidelines .

### Qualifications & Skills
Educational Background:
- Diploma in Dairy/Food Technology , B.Sc. in Chemistry , or any relevant graduation .
Experience:
- Prior experience in milk testing or laboratory work is preferred but not mandatory.
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with milk testing techniques & equipment .
- Knowledge of dairy safety standards & protocols .
Key Attributes:
- Strong analytical & observational skills.
- Proficiency in documentation & reporting .
- Effective communication in the local language .
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality control .

### Working Conditions
Work Environment: Primarily at the BMC , overseeing milk collection & storage . Timings: Must be available during milk procurement hours .
