Finalité de la fonction

As  Associate Perfume Analyst, based in Argenteuil (France), you will provide analytical support to the Consumer Products and Fine Fragrances Development teams in Europe. You will also be involved in the analytical laboratory activities (GC/MS instrument maintenance, safety procedures, SOPs, supplies order).

In this position you will:

1. Prepare samples in the extraction laboratory (Diversity of samples prepared: market product samples (CP, FF & OC), Competitive Intelligence FC Samples containing encapsulated perfume, S&T samples (Capsule slurry, capsule in different bases, fabrics for deposition measurements…)

2. Use various techniques for injections (GC/MS/FID, SPME HS, HS pumping TDS, DHS/MVM…)

3. Perform data analysis for dosage estimation, stability measurements and GC comparison as a priority (To further extend, be initiated to composition analysis of raw materials or perfume in market products)

4. Carry out data treatment using specific softwares and analytical databases

5. Assess the consistency of results, write reports and share these with requesters under Senior Analyst supervision

6. Use current IT tools to manage requests and record results in databases

7. Perform preventive maintenance of the chromatographic equipment to ensure reliability of results

8. Collaborate for day-to-day work with Perfume Analysis Team in Europe

9. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment in compliance with EHS guidelines.

Academic Background and Professional Experience:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a relevant discipline

• Minimum of 3 years work experience in analytical laboratory using the GC-MS-FID technique with experience in using chemometric tools for data interpretation.

• Knowledge of the fragrance industry will be advantageous

• Demonstrate proficiency in using common IT applications

• Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language.

• Knowledge of GLP (Good Laboratory Practices)

• Eager to learn, curious, open-minded and rigorous

• Able to communicate clearly and concisely

• Excellent organizational and lab skills

• A flexible team player with ability to evolve in a business reactive context, adapting to customer needs
