About this role
Supervises core laboratory staff and participates in the performance of various core laboratory procedures. Guides the day to day operations of the core laboratory.
- Advanced technical skills in performing and analyzing various clinical laboratory tests and procedures.
- Knowledge of general laboratory, safety and quality control, principles, techniques, and terminology.
- Excellent customer service skills, for both internal and external customers.
- Ability to work in a Laboratory Information System.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to keep accurate, detailed records.
- Ability to use complex medical equipment.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Science required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Six (6) years of progressive experience in a CAP/CLIA accredited clinical laboratory required
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION:
- Certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathology or equivalent.
