Location: The R&D Senior Manager can be a remote role for year one but having a hybrid presence in Branchburg, NJ will be necessary after 12 months. Approximately 20% domestic and international travel will be required to meet business needs.
Your Role:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary EUV Photoresist Program Manager to lead the development and execution of next-generation photoresist technologies within the Patterning Business Unit. The successful candidate will oversee strategic EUV photoresist programs, drive innovation from concept through customer qualification, and lead a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers based in the United States and need to collaborate with the EUV Program at STC in Japan.
This role requires a balance of technical leadership, business acumen, customer engagement, and people management. The Program Manager will work closely with global R&D organizations, marketing, manufacturing, customer application teams, and external partners to accelerate innovation and deliver differentiated solutions for leading semiconductor manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Strategic EUV Photoresist Programs
- Define and execute technical and business roadmaps for EUV photoresist platforms aligned with market and customer requirements.
- Manage program portfolios, budgets, resources, timelines, risks, and milestone governance.
- Drive development activities from early-stage innovation through commercialization and customer adoption.
- Ensure alignment of project priorities with Patterning BU growth objectives and customer roadmaps.
2. Drive Technical Innovation
- Lead the development of advanced EUV resist materials to improve:
- Resolution
- Line Edge Roughness (LER)
- Sensitivity
- Etch resistance
- Defectivity performance
- Establish and continuously improve formulation design strategies, screening workflows, and material evaluation methodologies.
- Promote scientific excellence and technology differentiation through innovative material platforms and process solutions.
3. Accelerate Data-Driven R&D
- Implement modern experimental design methodologies, statistical analysis, and high-throughput screening approaches.
- Leverage digitalization, modeling, AI-assisted material design, and data analytics to accelerate development cycles and improve decision-making.
- Collaborate with computational chemistry and digital R&D teams to enhance predictive materials development capabilities.
4. Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate closely with Marketing, Customer Applications, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Management teams.
- Ensure efficient technology transfer from laboratory development to production scale-up.
- Facilitate alignment across global development centers, including collaborations with external institutes and research partners.
5. Build Strong Customer and External Partnerships
- Serve as a key technical interface with strategic semiconductor customers.
- Support customer engagements, joint development programs, technical reviews, and executive-level discussions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external collaborators, suppliers, academic institutions, and industry consortia.
- Monitor competitive technology trends, customer needs, and industry developments.
6. Manage and Develop High-Performing Teams
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of scientists and engineers located in the United States.
- Establish clear objectives, performance expectations, and career development plans.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Drive succession planning and talent development within the organization.
7. Ensure Compliance, IP, and Operational Excellence
- Ensure adherence to EHS standards, chemical safety regulations, and applicable compliance requirements.
- Promote intellectual property generation through invention disclosures, patents, and strategic IP management.
- Maintain high standards of laboratory operations, data quality, documentation, and project reporting.
- Represent Patterning R&D in leadership reviews, customer meetings, conferences, and internal strategic discussions.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or M.S. in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 8+ years of industrial R&D experience in semiconductor materials, photoresists, or related advanced materials technologies.
- Proven leadership experience managing technical teams, projects, and cross-functional organizations.
- Strong expertise in photoresist chemistry, formulation development, lithographic materials, and semiconductor process integration.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with semiconductor customers and driving technology qualification.
- Ability to operate effectively in a global and matrixed organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15+ years industrial R&D experience in semiconductor materials, photoresists, or related advanced materials technologies.
- Direct experience with EUV photoresist development and commercialization.
- Direct or indirect working experience in leading-edge semiconductor manufacturing company.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with leading-edge logic and memory customer requirements.
- Experience with DOE, machine learning, computational materials design, or digital R&D tools.
- Record of patents, publications, or significant technical contributions to advanced lithography materials.
- Experience collaborating with external research institutes, industry consortia, or strategic development partners.

Pay range for this position: $161,600 - $220,000
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
