Sustainability Reporting Project Manager

The Global Sustainability team seeks a Sustainability Reporting Project Manager to support Tesla’s sustainability reporting program. You’ll play a key role in helping project manage Tesla’s annual impact report, and related sustainability disclosures, working with stakeholders, globally. This is a high-impact, high ownership and management role in a fast-paced environment and ideal for someone who wants to contribute direction to Tesla’s mission while being a member of the Global Sustainability team.

Project manage sustainability-related reporting projects, including global sustainability regulations (i.e., CSRD, entity-level reporting), Tesla’s annual Impact Report and business to business customer reporting requirements, related to sustainability disclosures (i.e., GHG emissions, waste, water, lifecycle assessments, circularity, human rights, workforce management)   Manage the project plan, timeline and cross-functional coordination for global sustainability reporting, which could include supporting on data collection, drafting, internal reviews and audit, design and publication  Assist in aligning reports and disclosures with external sustainability frameworks and jurisdiction-specific requirements, ensuring consistency between group and entity level disclosures Where applicable, support the improvement of data and disclosure processes, tools and controls for greater efficiency and accuracy  Develop materials across various mediums (spreadsheets, slides, summaries etc.) to support the communication of sustainability disclosure requirements to relevant stakeholders across Tesla  Partner with various stakeholders across Tesla including the Global Sustainability team, Responsible Sourcing, Human Resources, Investor Relations, Finance, Legal, Internal Audit and other leaders to support preparation of disclosures for Tesla’s Impact Report. This includes supporting in gathering data and metrics, developing content, and data assurance tasks  Support the broader Global Sustainability team’s project management, using tools like Jira, to coordinate cross-team initiatives, maintain aligned timelines and deliverables and drive execution on related programs outside of core sustainability reporting

Degree in Public Policy, Sustainability, Environmental Management or Science, Communications, Business or equivalent experience Experience related to sustainability or environmental impact, with direct experience developing and implementing sustainability reporting projects, globally  Current and clear understanding of sustainability issues and related frameworks (i.e. TCFD, GRI, SASB, ISSB), particularly as it applies and overlaps with increasing sustainability reporting regulation (i.e. CSRD, California’s climate disclosure law)  Strong organizational skills and project management skills; possesses the ability to successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, across regions  Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to adapt to different formats (dashboards, internal trainings, annual reports, etc.)  Experience and a desire to find creative and innovative solutions to complex challenges, as well as a demonstrated ability to work closely and communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders across multiple time zones  Passion for Tesla’s mission, a bias toward action and not checking boxes, initiative and ownership, and strong attention to detail
