A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support a diverse workforce and provide hands-on HR leadership across multiple functional areas. This confidential opportunity is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys balancing employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, recruiting, compliance, and HR operations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, service-oriented HR professional with strong payroll and benefits experience, a solid understanding of employment laws, and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.

What You'll Do

As the Human Resources Generalist, you'll serve as a key resource for employees and managers while supporting a wide range of HR initiatives and daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Process bi-weekly payroll and ensure accurate pay administration across multiple schedules
- Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, life insurance, and 401(k)
- Complete 401(k) funding activities and monthly benefit reconciliations
- Manage Workers' Compensation claims, reporting, and follow-up activities
- Coordinate annual open enrollment and benefits communication efforts
- Support and administer the annual performance review process
- Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding programs
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and talent acquisition activities
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs
- Maintain HR records and ensure compliance with employment regulations
- Support budgeting, reporting, audits, and special HR projects
- Foster positive employee relations and support a collaborative workplace culture

Required Qualifications

3+ years of Human Resources experience Experience processing payroll and administering employee benefits Knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and HR best practices Recruiting and talent acquisition experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:

- Pivot Tables
- VLOOKUPs
- Formulas and reporting functions

Experience supporting employees and managers in a manufacturing environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with ADP Workforce Now
- PHR or SHRM certification
- Full-cycle recruiting experience
- Workers' Compensation administration experience
- Benefits administration and leave management experience
- Experience supporting multi-site operations

Travel Requirements

- Initial onboarding and training will occur in Chicago during the first week
- Travel to Chicago approximately every other month during the first year (2-3 days per trip)
- Quarterly travel after the first year

Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $82000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
