This Senior Managing Director is a senior leader and member of the Investment leadership team, a group responsible for the strategic direction of RGA’s $150B general account investment portfolio and its integral role in RGA’s success. This role reports directly to the Enterprise Chief Investment Officer and is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overall accountability for RGA's $125B global investment grade platform, including public corporate credit, structured products, and investment grade private credit across all regions.

In addition to investment performance and risk management, this leader is responsible for developing a high-performing global organization of approximately 33 analysts, strategists, and traders, driving innovation, organizational effectiveness, and modernization through technology, data, and artificial intelligence.

What you will do

Strategic Investment Leadership

·       Lead the global investment grade platform across public corporate credit, structured products, and investment grade private credit, establishing strategy, priorities, and performance expectations aligned with enterprise objectives.

·       Develop and execute global credit strategies that optimize risk-adjusted returns, capital efficiency, liquidity, and balance sheet resilience while supporting RGA's liability-driven investment philosophy.

·       Maintain accountability for investment performance, portfolio outcomes, and risk management, ensuring disciplined security selection, trade execution, underwriting, surveillance, and portfolio management across market cycles.

·       Direct asset class portfolio construction and investment decision-making within approved guidelines, balancing return objectives, risk tolerances, regulatory requirements, and capital considerations.

·       Partner closely with Investment Solutions, Global Portfolio Management, Risk, Finance, and regional investment leaders to align investment strategies with enterprise objectives.

Global Platform Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness

·       Lead and integrate global investment teams across the North American, EMEA, and APAC regions, establishing a unified culture, consistent investment standards, clear governance, and accountability for results.

·       Build, develop, and retain high-performing teams, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, intellectual rigor, continuous improvement, and accountability.

·       Evaluate and evolve organizational structures, talent strategies, and operating models to support growth, scalability, efficiency, and future investment platform needs.

·       Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership and business stakeholders, ensuring investment strategies support business objectives, new business initiatives, and enterprise priorities.

·       Represent the investment platform with senior leadership, boards, regulators, rating agencies, clients, and external partners, providing thought leadership and influencing strategic decisions.

Innovation & Platform Modernization

·       Champion the modernization of the investment platform through technology, data, automation, and artificial intelligence, driving innovation, operational excellence, and enhanced investment decision-making

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Required:

- MBA graduate with 15+ years relevant work experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Finance related field with 20+ years relevant work experience
- 10+ Years of leadership experience
- CFA or significant progress towards

Preferred:

- Masters, ASA, FSA, or CAIA

Skills and Abilities

Required:

- Deep expertise in investment grade fixed income markets, including public corporate credit, structured products, and investment grade private placements, with extensive credit underwriting, portfolio construction, and portfolio management experience.
- Proven ability to develop and execute investment strategies that deliver strong risk-adjusted returns while balancing capital efficiency, liquidity, risk, and insurance business objectives.
- Demonstrated success leading large, globally distributed investment organizations and building high-performing cultures focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience applying agentic AI and emerging technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of credit research, portfolio construction, and trading.
- Exceptional strategic leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence executive leadership, boards, regulators, rating agencies, and external partners.
- Strong understanding of insurance company investing, including asset-liability management, regulatory capital frameworks, accounting considerations, and rating agency perspectives.
- Familiarity with Bermuda regulatory regime under both Standard and Scenario Based Approach.
- Proven ability to drive organizational transformation, enhance operating models, and improve investment processes, governance, and outcomes.
- Ability to establish clear ownership, accountability, and performance expectations while developing talent, succession plans, and future organizational capabilities.
- Demonstrated success partnering across complex matrix organizations to align investment strategies with enterprise goals and create scalable solutions.
- Experience leveraging technology, data, automation, and artificial intelligence to enhance investment decision-making, operating efficiency, and organizational effectiveness.
- Visionary and forward-looking leader with strong investment judgment, commercial acumen, and the ability to balance innovation, risk management, and long-term value creation.

Compensation Range:
$255,600.00 - $366,533.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
