Position Summary

The Production Manager, Aerosoles Footwear is responsible for managing the end-to-end production process from development and sampling through bulk production and final delivery. This role works closely with overseas factories, Sourcing, Design, Sales, Quality Control, Logistics, and internal operations teams to ensure footwear is produced to specifications, meets quality and compliance standards, and is delivered on time.

The Production Manager will manage multiple styles, vendors, production calendars, and delivery timelines simultaneously, serving as a key point of contact between the company and its manufacturing partners. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where strong follow-up and problem-solving are critical.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the footwear production process from sampling through final delivery, ensuring all production milestones are met.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas factories and vendors, with a focus on China-based manufacturing partners.

- Manage production planning and maintain detailed Time & Action (T&A) calendars, ensuring all sampling, approvals, production, and delivery deadlines remain on track.

- Communicate daily with factories regarding production status, timelines, samples, approvals, quantities, pricing, and delivery requirements.

- Manage samples, including tracking submissions, coordinating shipments, and following up on approvals with internal teams and factories.

- Partner closely with Design and Sourcing to ensure product specifications, construction details, materials, and production requirements are clearly communicated to vendors.

- Manage style setup and maintain accurate cost sheets, ensuring pricing is aligned with company margin objectives.

- Support price negotiations with factories and communicate approved pricing and production requirements.

- Enter, maintain, and monitor purchase orders, ensuring all PO information is accurate and aligned with customer requirements.

- Work closely with Sales to ensure customer purchase orders align with cut purchase orders and production quantities.

- Monitor production progress and proactively identify potential delays, shortages, quality concerns, or other issues that could impact delivery.

- Maintain weekly production status and at-risk reports and communicate updates and potential delivery issues to Sales and other internal stakeholders.

- Oversee quality control and product testing in partnership with the QC team, ensuring issues are resolved without compromising production timelines.

- Ensure factories comply with customer-specific packing, labeling, testing, and shipping requirements.

- Provide factories with accurate packing, labeling, and shipping instructions.

- Review packing lists and ensure carton dimensions and weights are accurate and updated in the ERP system.

- Coordinate with factories, Logistics, and freight forwarders to ensure timely booking and shipment of orders.

- Track shipments from pre-production through final delivery and proactively communicate changes or delays.

- Partner with the Inbound Logistics team to prioritize orders and support timely delivery to customers and the warehouse.

- Maintain accurate production records, order tracking reports, cost sheets, T&A calendars, and vendor communications.

- Maintain organized production files and ensure accurate product and vendor record-keeping.

- Provide regular production reporting and status updates to internal teams.

- Manage and support a remote team member responsible for production data entry and administrative tasks.

- Identify production issues and develop solutions quickly to minimize impact on cost, quality, and delivery.

- Support additional production and operational initiatives as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

- 5+ years of experience in footwear production, sourcing, or manufacturing.

- Strong experience managing production directly with overseas factories and vendors.

- Experience working with factories in China strongly preferred.

- Experience working with off-price wholesalers and/or major retail customers required.

- Strong understanding of footwear production, development, sampling, quality control, testing, and international shipping.

- Experience managing T&A calendars and multiple production timelines simultaneously.

- Strong understanding of purchase orders, costing, production quantities, and delivery requirements.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; experience working with ERP or production management systems preferred.

- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.

- Excellent organizational, communication, follow-up, and multitasking skills.

- Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify and resolve production issues.

- Ability to work effectively across Sales, Design, Sourcing, QC, Logistics, and other internal teams.

- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Salary: The anticipated base salary is $90k-$100k  annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, internal equity, and location.
