The University of Miami, Frost School of Music, has an exciting opportunity for a full time Manager, Admissions to work in Coral Gables, FL.

The Manager of Admissions and Academic Support Services manages day-to-day operations for the Admissions department and implements admissions policies, practices, and procedures in furtherance of institutional goals. Moreover, the incumbent develops admissions strategies and promotes the University’s programs to the target communities.  Additionally, this individual provides academic support services to current graduate students, to include degree progress monitoring, assistance with graduation clearance processes, and oversight of Non-ETD final project submissions.

Admissions, Recruitment, and Travel

- Explains educational programs, expected outcomes, student services, and financial considerations to students, parents, and educators.
- Serves as a back up to the Director of Admissions for undergraduate counseling session and workshops, conducted both in-person and virtually.
- Serves as a back up to the Assistant Director of Admissions for graduate counseling sessions and workshops, conducted both in-person and virtually.
- Serves as back up tour guide and monitor phone, voicemails, and admissions email inboxes.
- Provides general support to applicants and families by responding to inquiries via email, telephone, and face to face.
- May travel locally on behalf of the Frost School of Music for inquiry-based recruitment events including college fairs and high school visits.

Event Planning and Coordination

- Supports the Frost Admissions Team by assisting with day-of set up for on-campus events such as audition days and open houses.
- Make room reservations, set-up, and management

Data Analysis and Assessment

- Supports graduate admissions by reviewing and processing application materials ensuring that applicants meet minimum academic, musical, and disciplinary standards for admission.
- Calculate applicant GPA's / Data entry into CaneLink and Slate
- Assists in updating Frost Admissions marketing materials including digital websites and physical brochures.

Graduate Studies Support

- Track submission of official transcripts for matriculated students
- Record and report entrance exam results
- Ensure graduate student submission of required documents (Standard Release, TA Work Assignment Form, Recital Evaluations)
- Oversee filing of documents into graduate student digital academic records
- Migrate admissions folders into student academic records
- Monitor and support graduate student progress toward degree completion through review and maintenance of Degree Progress Reports in CaneLink
- Conduct format checking and final review for Non-ETD Final Project submissions
- Assist with the graduation clearance process by tracking submission of documents required by students, their advisors, and final project committee members
- Other duties as assigned

Core Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, Music preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with student information platforms including PeopleSoft and Slate.
- Ability to collaborate in-person and digitally through the use of Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Zoom.
- Knowledge of musical instruments, styles, and genres.
- Awareness and commitment to applicant/student confidentiality laws (FERPA).
