Microbiological Lab Technician

Job Title: QC Microbiologist / Microbiology Lab Technician Responsibilities

- Prepare and handle microbiological media as needed to support routine testing activities.
- Clean and process used glassware to ensure it is ready for safe and accurate laboratory use.
- Perform general cleaning and upkeep of the laboratory area to maintain a safe, organized, and compliant workspace.
- Conduct microbial testing on bacterial samples, including pathogen testing and enumeration of products.
- Perform quality control microbiological testing on fermentation products used as animal probiotics for animal feed.
- Maintain the Retainer Testing Program, ensuring tests are completed on schedule and results are documented accurately.
- Input test results and related data into Excel spreadsheets, maintaining organized and accurate electronic records.
- Swab and test for allergens on relevant surfaces and materials, following established procedures.
- Swab and test for environmental contaminants to support environmental monitoring and control within the facility.
- Maintain the Microbial Control Program, ensuring controls are implemented and monitored in line with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Sample raw materials as necessary for microbiological analysis and quality control checks.
- Complete all laboratory tasks in accordance with GMP, FAMIqs, and FSMA requirements, following established protocols and documentation standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
