Structural Checker

Description The Sr. Structural Checker is responsible for reviewing and verifying the technical accuracy, completeness, and quality of structural design deliverables associated with process modules, equipment supports, pipe racks, skids, and other related structures. This includes performing detailed checks of 3D models, 2D drawings, material take-offs, and associated documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry codes, company standards, and client requirements. The Sr. Structural Checker works closely with Structural Designers, Engineers, Technical Leads, and Project Managers to identify and resolve design discrepancies, improve drawing quality, and ensure interdisciplinary coordination. This role provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and checkers while maintaining quality assurance standards throughout the design process. The position requires extensive knowledge of structural drafting and design practices, strong attention to detail, and the ability to evaluate constructability, consistency, and adherence to established engineering principles. The Sr. Structural Checker is responsible for making informed decisions regarding drawing acceptance, commenting on design improvements, prioritizing checking activities, and supporting the successful delivery of project milestones. MUST HAVES: -Structural checking experience 10+ years -Oil & Gas experience -Familiarity with recent codes (CWB, OSHA*) -Fabrication experience, in a shop or field construction Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Airdrie, AB.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
