SURVEYOR / FIELD ENGINEER

Job Title: Surveyor /Site Engineer Job Description The Surveyor / Site Engineer plays a key role in establishing and maintaining the primary control network on a major construction project, ensuring accurate installation of works through advanced surveying techniques and augmented reality tools. You will work independently in the field alongside installation teams, perform setting out and inspections against BIM models, and produce clear daily reports and deliverables that support high-quality, riskreduced construction activities. Responsibilities

- Establish and maintain the primary control network on site using a total station for the full duration of the project.
- Independently operate total station and robotic stations (Leica, Trimble, Topcon) to carry out precise surveying and construction staking activities.
- Conduct setting out and detailed site inspections using the Atom augmented reality headset to verify that works are installed or being installed correctly in accordance with the BIM model.
- Produce accurate daily reports and associated deliverables based on the inspections carried out on site.
- Attend coordination meetings with the contractor to plan and align daily field activities with the construction programme.
- Process, review, and validate all acquired survey data to ensure it is accurate, reliable, and suitable for decisionmaking.
- Collaborate with the contractor to devise a weekly inspection lookahead schedule that aligns with the construction programme and helps derisk incorrect installations in the field.
- Obtain the latest approved Revit models and prepare them for export into HoloSite to support augmented reality inspections.
- Use Microsoft Word and Excel to document findings, prepare reports, and maintain records of inspections and survey data.
- Drive to and from site locations as required to support project activities.

Essential Skills

- Minimum of 2+ years of surveying or construction experience, including working independently in the field alongside installation or construction teams.
- Proven ability to independently operate a total station to establish and maintain a control network.
- Hands-on experience operating total station and robotic station equipment such as Leica, Trimble, or Topcon.
- Prior construction experience, including construction staking and site surveying activities.
- Surveying qualification related to land surveying, geodetic, geospatial, or geomatics disciplines.
- Confidence in using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, for documentation and reporting.
- Valid full driving license suitable for travel to and from project sites.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Knowledge and working experience of Revit and BIM processes is beneficial but not essential.
- Familiarity with augmented reality tools such as the Atom headset and platforms like HoloSite is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with construction and installation teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
- Effective communication skills for participating in coordination meetings and producing clear, concise reports.
- Willingness to relocate or work on projects in different locations as new opportunities arise.

Work Environment This role is site-based and involves working closely with construction and installation teams on major projects in locations such as London or Florida, with full training provided on site. You will use advanced surveying equipment, including total station and robotic stations (Leica, Trimble, Topcon), as well as augmented reality technology such as the Atom headset and HoloSite, alongside BIM and Revit models. The working pattern aligns with typical construction schedules and requires regular fieldwork, data processing, and coordination meetings. There is potential for relocation within the United States once the initial project (approximately one year) is completed, or the option to continue on new projects in locations such as Omaha. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $115000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
