Pipeline Camera Repair Technician

Position Objective

The CCTV Equipment Technician provides specialized technical support for Rentix Solutions pipeline inspection equipment. This position focuses on keeping camera and CCTV systems operating reliably by identifying equipment issues, completing component-level repairs, and thoroughly testing equipment before it is returned to service.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with IBAK, RapidView, or similar pipeline inspection technology and is comfortable working with equipment that combines electronics, mechanical components, wiring, motors, and camera technology.

Job Responsibilities

- Evaluate camera and CCTV inspection equipment to determine the source of equipment failures and performance issues.

- Repair and service IBAK, RapidView, and other pipeline inspection systems.

- Work with camera heads, crawlers, cable reels, controllers, wiring, motors, lighting, connectors, and other system components.

- Diagnose electronic and mechanical issues using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment.

- Complete soldering, wiring, component replacement, and detailed mechanical repairs as needed.

- Inspect and test equipment following repairs to confirm proper operation.

- Perform routine service and maintenance to help improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

- Use schematics, technical documentation, and manufacturer information when diagnosing and completing repairs.

- Determine parts and components needed to complete repairs and maintain accurate parts usage.

- Record completed work and provide clear information regarding equipment condition and repairs performed.

- Keep tools, parts, equipment, and the work area organized and maintained.

- Follow established safety practices while working with electrical and mechanical equipment.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications

- Two or more years of hands-on experience repairing IBAK, RapidView, or comparable CCTV/pipeline inspection equipment preferred.

- Strong understanding of electronic and mechanical troubleshooting.

- Experience working with wiring, motors, electrical components, cameras, and mechanical drive systems.

- Ability to solder and complete detailed electronic and mechanical repairs.

- Ability to understand electrical schematics and technical documentation.

- Experience with sewer, stormwater, pipeline inspection, or similar equipment is preferred.

- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work through technical problems from diagnosis through completed repair.

- Detail-oriented and able to work independently while managing multiple repair priorities.
