About this role

Job Title: Buyer / Purchaser Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to support procurement operations by sourcing and purchasing machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and services necessary for business operations. The Buyer will evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing and contracts, manage purchase orders, and ensure goods and services are obtained at the best value while meeting quality and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Evaluate and optimize supplier relationships based on cost, quality, service, support, and availability.
- Purchase materials, equipment, and services while ensuring quality standards and cost efficiency.
- Review and approve purchase orders, requisitions, and bid proposals.
- Solicit and analyze vendor quotations and negotiate pricing and contract terms.
- Resolve issues related to delayed, defective, or unacceptable goods and services.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to determine corrective actions when needed.
- Monitor supplier and contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Support contract administration, renegotiations, and vendor relationship management.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
- Assist in developing and implementing procurement best practices and processes.

Required Skills

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field required.
- 2-4 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, finance, supply chain, or a related area.
- Experience working with suppliers, contracts, and purchasing systems preferred.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Peoria, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
