Job Title: Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

### Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support a unionized operational environment. This role provides comprehensive HR support across recruitment, employee relations, labour relations, performance management, workplace investigations, and HR administration. The successful candidate will partner closely with leaders and employees to deliver strategic HR guidance while supporting day-to-day operational priorities. This position requires a professional who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, navigate complex employee and labour relations matters, and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with leadership to promote and implement HR programs, initiatives, and best practices.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment activities for professional, technical, skilled trades, and operational positions.
- Support talent development initiatives, including internship, co-op, and student recruitment programs.
- Provide guidance and coaching to people leaders on performance management, employee development, workplace concerns, and disciplinary matters.
- Foster positive employee relations and support initiatives aimed at improving engagement, retention, and workplace culture.
- Interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, employment legislation, and organizational guidelines.
- Advise leadership on employee and labour relations matters.
- Investigate workplace issues, conduct employee investigations, and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Support the administration and interpretation of collective agreements within a unionized environment.
- Assist with grievance management, conflict resolution, and labour relations processes.
- Support arbitration preparation and other labour-related proceedings as required.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with union representatives and key stakeholders.
- Analyze HR trends, metrics, and workforce data to identify opportunities for process improvement and organizational effectiveness.
- Act as a subject matter expert on employment legislation, human rights, labour relations, and workplace compliance matters.

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist or business partner capacity.
- Strong experience supporting employee relations, workplace investigations, labour relations, and performance management.
- Experience within a unionized environment, including collective agreement administration and grievance management.
- Full-cycle recruitment experience for professional, technical, engineering, skilled trades, or operational roles.
- Knowledge of employment legislation, labour relations principles, and workplace investigations.
- Experience using HRIS systems and maintaining detailed employee documentation.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience supporting operations, manufacturing, industrial, or other fast-paced environments is considered an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

- CPHR designation or equivalent HR certification.
- Experience supporting internship, co-op, or campus recruitment programs.
- Experience coordinating events, employee programs, or recruitment initiatives.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HR reporting.
- Experience with HRIS implementations, optimization, or process improvement initiatives.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, BC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $90000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Richmond,BC.
