Job Title: Payroll Team Lead Job Description: The Payroll Team Lead oversees end-to-end payroll processing for a large, multi-provincial employee population. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll execution, maintains compliance with provincial payroll legislation, and supports internal stakeholders in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The successful candidate brings extensive hands-on experience in high-volume payroll and provides guidance and leadership within the payroll function. Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll for more than 300 employees with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Administer multi-provincial payroll, including British Columbia and Alberta, ensuring correct application of regional requirements.
- Ensure accuracy of all payroll elements, including earnings, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
- Maintain, review, and update employee payroll records to keep information current and compliant.
- Support payroll reconciliations and investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable provincial payroll legislation and internal company policies.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries promptly, providing clear, professional, and customer-focused support.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to align payroll activities with broader organizational processes and timelines.
- Support year-end payroll activities, such as preparing and reviewing T4s and other required year-end documentation.
- Provide leadership within the payroll function, leveraging payroll lead experience to improve processes and support continuous improvement.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 5+ years of payroll lead experience in a high-volume environment.
- Proven experience processing payroll for 300+ employees.
- Hands-on experience administering payroll for British Columbia and Alberta.
- Strong knowledge of provincial payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated high attention to detail and accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
- Solid understanding of end-to-end payroll processes, including earnings, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
- Ability to manage sensitive payroll information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong communication skills to respond effectively to employee inquiries and collaborate with HR and Finance teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using Vista payroll or HRIS software.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or active progress toward certification.
- Experience supporting year-end payroll activities, including preparation and review of T4s.
- Proficiency with general PC applications and systems used in payroll processing.
- Ability to work effectively in a structured, on-site environment and adapt to evolving payroll processes.
Work Environment This role is fully on-site in a professional office setting, working closely with HR and Finance teams in a collaborative environment. The position operates in a deadline-driven atmosphere with regular payroll cycles and year-end activities that require strong focus and accuracy. The work involves extensive use of payroll systems, including Vista software, and standard office technology. The dress code is typical business or business-casual attire suitable for a corporate office environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $36.05/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
