About this role
A plant fitter is required for a plant hire and quarry company. Daily jobs will consist of servicing machines and attending breakdowns. Working on excavators, dumptrucks, bulldozers, crushers, screeners and trucks. Experienced in welding, troubleshooting and good mechanical background. Jobs will be yard based and site based. Must be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
Working with brands such as Cat, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi and Case machinery.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, or Maintenance Fitter .
- Strong mechanical fitting and maintenance skills.
- Good knowledge of industrial plant and machinery.
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, pumps, gearboxes, and conveyors is an advantage.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical manuals.
- Competent in using mechanical tools and workshop equipment.
- Relevant mechanical engineering qualification, apprenticeship, or trade certification.
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.
- Physically fit and able to work in industrial environments and at heights where required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
