Job Description

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing electrical control systems for custom automation projects. This role involves planning, executing, and supporting projects from concept through commissioning, utilizing experience and sound engineering judgment.

Responsibilities

- Design electrical control systems for automation projects with minimal supervision.
- Plan and execute project deliverables using experience and independent judgment.
- Develop PLC and HMI programs for machine control systems.
- Support manufacturing and in-house system builds.
- Provide field support and troubleshooting for installed automotive test systems.
- Create and maintain complete electrical print sets.
- Develop and maintain accurate bills of material (BOMs) for assigned projects.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external customers.
- Communicate technical information clearly using tact and diplomacy.

Essential Skills

- 3+ years of electrical engineering experience
- PLC knowledge
- Basic knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Electrical design in AutoCAD E or eplan

"Nice to have" Skills & Qualifications

- Familiarity with additional PLC platforms such as Mitsubishi, GE, Omron, or others is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Work Environment

No travel, desk work schematics design Potential for a hybrid schedule after earning the trust of the manager You will be involved in designing, building, and supporting complex diagnostic, inspection, and test systems in high stakes environments where performance, safety, and reliability are crucial.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $110000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
