Inventory Specialist- Weekend Plus Shift

SUMMARY

An Inventory Specialist- Weekend Plus Shift- is responsible for managing and overseeing the inventory process within the company. The role ensures inventory levels within the warehouse are accurate, products are tracked efficiently, and stock is maintained at optimal levels. Inventory Specialists manage and organize regular physical counts.

Weekend Plus Schedule: Friday - Monday - 5:00am - 3:00pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Oversee inventory transactions such as receipts, adjustments, and movements.

- Help coordinate and maintain proper storage of inventory to prevent damage, loss, or deterioration.

- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, stock discrepancies, and potential issues.

- Generate and review inventory reports, and provides insights on inventory performance.

- Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure compliance with company policies.

- Develop and implement processes for better inventory accuracy and efficiency.

- Completes daily cycle count tasks generated by the system in our clean warehouse.

- Complete special count requests as needed.

- Upon completion of counts, determine if there are discrepancies and reconcile the differences as needed including sku changes.

- Verify lots/expiration information and pull products from active picking locations as needed.

- Report large/unusual discrepancies to the IC team for further resolution via email providing supporting documentation regarding the issue(s) found.

- Participate in physical inventories. Inventories may take place after scheduled hours including weekends.

- Operates warehouse equipment (cherry picker, forklifts) to perform daily duties.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Weekend availability.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a higher-level inventory control position required.

Forklift or warehouse equipment certification is preferred.

Experience in a similar role within a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment a plus.

Strong typing skills with a focus on data accuracy and attention to detail while entering data.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel) a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Strong ability to read and understand inventory reports, product documentation, and operating procedures, as well as accurately document inventory data and communicate clearly in written form. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders, both within and outside the company. Ability to communicate and follow instructions related to Safety, Quality, and Performance.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Proficient in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for inventory calculations, stock counts, and adjustments. With the ability to calculate and understand percentages, ratios, averages in all units of measure.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Be able to assess inventory data, identify discrepancies, and determine effective solutions. The ability to think critically and logically is essential in troubleshooting inventory issues, analyzing trends, and making decisions to maintain accurate stock levels.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Previous experience with knowledge of the Internet, Inventory Software, and Warehouse Management Systems is a must.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
