Seed Processing Operator X4

Job Purpose:

- Setting up and operating the different equipment in the different processing areas to ensure optimal output meeting the quality standards.
- Specific equipment required to be operated include dryers, shellers, fine cleaners, color sorters and seed treaters. Supports warehouse activities during processing shifts

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

- Identify and report KPI’s on the applicable TIER meetings and ensure the measurement and analysis thereof for all responsible areas to ensure daily,weekly, monthly and annual goals are met.
- Lead HSE efforts according ISO 45001 and Bayer safety standards focusing on legal compliance and identifying safety risks applying the HIRAmethodology
- Participate in compiling Risk assessments and Job safety analysis
- Actively record safety observation and near misses
- Participate in 5WHY problem solving identifying corrective and preventative actions.
- Adhere to all applicable legislation, Bayer safety policies and procedures
- Adhere to requirements of legal appointments
- Actively promote the Bayer safety culture and best practices
- Managing the flow of product through the different stages of the processes
- Set-up and operate dryer bin truck for offloading and loading of cobs
- Has excellent tipper truck driving and operating skills
- Able to drive a forklift and has certification in the same
- Set-up and operate the equipment in the different areas (Cleaning, Sizing , Color sorting, Treating, Bagging and Aspiration
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and management system set by ISO9001:2015
- Support Continuous improvement projects to drive cost saving and OEE improvement via Focused Improvement projects
- Day-to-day operations and execution of processing plan.
- Maintaining of Quality control process in processing operations. Working with the quality team
- Ensure that all OnePSS principles are implemented and followed for your area.
- Maintain housekeeping to the right level according to the 5S standard
- Ensure that the final product is of the highest standard throughout the process.
- Updating of all visual management boards and all paperwork

Qualifications & Competencies:

- A minimum of a grade 12 certificate
- At least 2-7 years’ experience in Plant Operations and Engineering
- Holder of CE drivers license
- Forklift driving certificate
- Competency in seed processing operations, good conceptual and analytical thinking skills, problem-solving ability
- Computer skills (SAP, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Windows)
- Highly self-motivated, innovative and have a proven project management record.
- Strong desire for personal development and professional growth at Bayer
