Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As the Deputy Manager of Engine Assembly & Testing, you will play a crucial role in driving efficiency and excellence in manufacturing processes. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Implementing robust cost control measures focused on enhancing line productivity to minimize scrap, consumables, and manpower expenses while ensuring adherence to departmental budgets through careful planning and continuous monitoring.
- Achieving and maintaining SPR (Standard Performance Rate) improvements exceeding 90%, coupled with comprehensive defects data analysis to identify root causes and implement effective countermeasures that elevate product quality and process reliability.
- Leading the Assembly manufacturing team by fostering a collaborative environment focused on controlling PQCDSM (Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Morale) metrics, thereby ensuring timely delivery of products aligned with production plans.
- Coordinating cross-functionally with internal departments, external partners, and vendors to drive process improvements and facilitate smooth implementation of new product introductions and mass production setups.
- Ensuring compliance with the scheduled training programs for both workers and staff, promoting upskilling initiatives that address evolving production demands and quality standards.
- Managing daily manpower deployment effectively by proactively resolving conflicts and fostering a motivated, inspired workforce. You will regularly review the performance of your team members, offering constructive feedback and supporting their professional growth.
- Conducting gap analyses to diagnose production losses, quality deviations, and equipment breakdowns, and formulating action plans to address these issues systematically.
- Overseeing synchronization of parts across different engine models, particularly focusing on JD with Bullet Points in Mahindra Tractors line, to optimize assembly line efficiency and product consistency.

## Education Qualification
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, exemplified by a formal qualification in engineering. Accepted qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering

General Experience
Ideal candidates should bring a breadth of practical experience relevant to manufacturing and assembly operations, with specific emphasis on the automotive or heavy equipment sectors such as tractor manufacturing. The general experience requirements include:
- A minimum of 3 years and up to 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing environments, specifically within engine assembly, testing, or related production functions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in fast-paced, high-volume production settings, embracing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience in operational planning, cost control, quality management, and supply chain coordination, highlighting versatility across the production lifecycle.
- Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with departments such as quality assurance, procurement, logistics, and engineering design to ensure smooth product introduction and process optimization.
This experience base ensures that candidates have developed the essential skills and insights to efficiently manage assembly line performance and contribute meaningfully to organizational goals.
Critical Experience
In addition to general manufacturing experience, the Deputy Manager - Engine Assembly & Testing role requires critical experience in the following areas, which are vital to achieving operational and business success:
- Proven expertise in cost reduction strategies, including waste minimization across scrap, consumables, and manpower allocation, coupled with success in adhering to and managing departmental budgets.
- Strong analytical capability to drive SPR improvements above 90%, with hands-on experience in defect data analysis and developing countermeasures that lead to measurable quality enhancements.
- Competency in leading multi-disciplinary teams to achieve PQCDSM benchmarks, supporting both performance and morale, and ensuring delivery schedules are met with high quality standards.
