Position - VDC Apprentice
Reports to - Lead Coordinator / Team Leader
Location - Vidyavihar Mumbai
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following include the essential duties and responsibilities of this role. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist in preparing piping drawings, 3D models, layouts, sketches, and other project deliverables as required.
- Support updates to project models, drawings, directories, and associated files in accordance with Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) standards.
- Follow VDC document control procedures, drafting standards, and quality expectations while completing assigned work.
- Complete assigned tasks within planned timelines and escalate questions or concerns to the Project Leader when needed.
- Provide regular updates on assigned work progress, project milestones, and any missing information affecting deliverables.
- Assist VDC teams with drafting, modeling, estimation, BOM preparation, and other related support activities as required.
Profile
Education, Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or chemical engineering, completed within the last 3 years.
- Completion of a piping design course from a reputed institution will be an added advantage.
- 0–3 years of experience in Piping design, estimation, BIM, drafting, or related engineering support preferred.
- Good communication, teamwork, learning ability, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally, if required.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Revit / 3D piping modeling software, AutoCAD, CADmep, and Navisworks is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, follow VDC drawing standards, use computer systems and drafting/modeling tools, and work effectively under supervision or within a team environment.
