YOUR IMPACT STARTS HERE

We’re looking for a Shipping/Receiving Supervisor to join our Operations team in McMinnville, Tennessee. In this role, you’ll oversee inbound and outbound freight and material transactions on first shift, coordinating shipments and receiving shipments from our Cookeville location. You’ll work closely with the Production Coordinator to keep shipments on schedule, the Maintenance Technician to keep our equipment fleet in good working order, and the Inventory Specialist to coordinate audits and inventory accuracy. You’ll also coordinate export and domestic shipments, cross-docking activities, and warehouse functions — including picking, packing, and equipment operation — to meet branch and customer delivery requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL BUILD & OWN

- Supervise shipping and receiving operators during first-shift operations, ensuring clear communication and handoff with other shifts.
- Ensure the shipping and receiving team follows SOPs for incoming and outgoing shipments and documents compliance; train new operators and verify their work.
- Schedule inbound and outbound freight and trailers to comply with cross-dock operations and capacities.
- Coordinate outbound shipments and shipments received from Cookeville to support material flow, cross-dock requirements, and customer delivery schedules.
- Ensure accuracy of all export parts picked, packed, and shipped to customers, including required U.S. Customs documentation and proper classifications.
- Plan and manage shipping schedules to meet branch and customer delivery requirements, and ensure accuracy of shipping and receiving documents, including Bills of Lading (B.O.L.).
- Oversee palletizing requirements to ensure shipments are properly staged, secured, labeled, and ready for carrier pickup.
- Process returns (RMAs), resolve receiving discrepancies and damaged inbound freight, and manage freight claims for damaged, lost, or short shipments.
- Oversee yard operations for safety, cleanliness, and efficiency; maintain the shop floor and order and receive shop floor supplies.
- Partner with the Maintenance Technician to develop and implement a maintenance plan, ensuring the truck and equipment fleet stays in good working order.
- Work with the Inventory Specialist to coordinate weekly/monthly lane audits, research discrepancies, and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records and metrics, and identify improvement plans to support departmental goals.
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment, ensure PPE compliance, and report and document unsafe conditions.
- Interface with Management, manufacturing personnel, Purchasing, Customer Care, and branches on material status and production planning issues, and assist Customer Care with warehouse-related issues and expedites.

WHAT YOU BRING

- Two-year associate degree; four-year college degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in warehouse and/or branch operations.
- Self-motivated with the ability to perform multiple tasks; experience with Lean manufacturing concepts and practices.
- Forklift/powered industrial truck certification, or ability to obtain.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and shipping/warehouse management systems.
- Willingness to support occasional after-hours communication and infrequent overnight travel when required for business-critical shipping and receiving needs.
