Position Overview

Actalent is currently seeking a Test Engineer to support a leading defense and aerospace program in Grand Prairie, Texas. This position will be responsible for hardware and software test system design, updates, integration, verification, and troubleshooting activities in support of advanced defense technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, electronics troubleshooting, test equipment development, software debugging, and system verification. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and solving complex technical challenges with minimal supervision. This is a 14-month contract opportunity with the potential for extension and/or the opportunity to pursue direct employment with the client based on performance and business needs.
## Responsibilities
Design, develop, update, and support hardware and software test systems. Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis on analog and digital electronic systems. Support system integration, verification, validation, and test activities. Design and support Interface Test Adapters (ITAs), test cables, and associated test equipment. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including: Test requirements Test procedures Operating instructions Installation procedures Flow charts Block diagrams Schematics Interface control documents Participate in engineering reviews, including design reviews, peer reviews, and verification readiness reviews. Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Design Assurance, Quality, and Technical Leadership teams to ensure test systems meet program requirements and engineering standards. Provide timely communication regarding technical issues, project progress, and risk mitigation activities. Support occasional travel to customer, supplier, and manufacturing facilities as required.
## Required Qualifications
Active Secret Clearance or Active Interim Secret Clearance required prior to start. Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Experience troubleshooting analog and digital electronic systems. Experience supporting test software design and software debugging efforts. Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies. Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment, including: Oscilloscopes Signal Generators Spectrum Analyzers Digital Multimeters (DMMs) Power Supplies AC/DC Power Distribution Systems Understanding of hardware and software configuration management processes. Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint. Experience designing and supporting Interface Test Adapters (ITAs) and cable assemblies. Experience with LabVIEW and/or TestStand.
## Preferred Qualifications
Experience within the defense, aerospace, military, or other highly regulated engineering environments. Experience supporting electronic test systems, hardware verification, system integration, or test automation programs. Experience working with complex electromechanical systems and mission-critical technologies. Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
## Additional Information
Drug screen and background check required. Safety shoes are required for this position. Candidates must have an active Interim Secret or Secret Clearance prior to starting. Qualified candidates identified before the targeted start date may be considered for an accelerated start.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $92.07 - $92.07/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
