Job Title: Buyer Job Description
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Buyer to support our sustainable procurement strategy. This role involves leading supplier tendering and sourcing activities, negotiating contracts, and ensuring procurement performance objectives are met across various projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the sustainable procurement strategy.
- Lead supplier tendering and sourcing activities following purchasing strategies and methodologies.
- Review and negotiate purchase requests to optimize budgets and achieve procurement performance objectives.
- Negotiate and draft contracts while managing commercial, operational, and contractual risks.
- Monitor, analyze, and address deviations from contractual commitments related to cost, quality, delivery schedules, and service levels.
- Track and manage supplier performance within the assigned portfolio.
- Collaborate with business development and estimating teams to improve the competitiveness of commercial offers.
- Conduct market research and develop a strong national and international network of suppliers and delivery partners.
- Issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs), negotiate agreements, and manage contract execution according to project schedules.
- Contribute to company-wide cost optimization and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Develop purchasing synergies across entities.
- Participate in supplier evaluation, qualification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain procurement performance indicators, reports, and dashboards.
- Serve as a key internal liaison by promoting and ensuring compliance with purchasing best practices.
Essential Skills
- Experience as a Project Buyer or in a similar procurement role.
- Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Excellent written communication and contract drafting skills.
- Strong knowledge of procurement and purchasing best practices.
- Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Formal training in Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience in project management and/or technical engineering functions is considered an asset.
- Strong interest in technical and engineering-focused industries.
- Hands-on, operational mindset with the ability to stay close to day-to-day activities.
Work Environment
The position operates within a dynamic and collaborative work environment focused on innovation and operational excellence. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility. The workweek is 40 hours, with five days in the office. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Montreal,QC.
