About this role
Foster Wales Swansea, part of the City and County of Swansea, is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Social Worker to join our dedicated fostering team. You will provide supervision, guidance and strategic leadership, develop specialist fostering pathways, and work collaboratively with children’s services, education and health professionals to ensure safe, nurturing homes for children looked after by the council.

- Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with current registration in Wales.
- Minimum 5 years post‑qualifying experience in children’s services, preferably fostering.
- Strong assessment, communication and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and appraise staff.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Experience in recruitment, training and retention of foster carers.
- Knowledge of the Signs of Safety model and trauma‑informed practice.
- Proficiency with case management and data reporting systems.
- Welsh language proficiency (spoken and written) desirable.
