Job Summary

The Manager, Technical Sourcing leads strategic sourcing activities for materials, technologies and supply solutions supporting the product pipeline, next-generation technologies and pre-commercial supply chain. The role is responsible for establishing sourcing solutions for new-to-West and next-generation materials, technologies and suppliers, including solutions jointly developed or industrialized with strategic suppliers.

Working closely with R&D, Technical Services, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance and Category Management, the Manager develops and executes sourcing strategies that enable competitive, scalable and resilient supply. The role serves as the operational owner of sourcing and supply risk management for assigned materials, product platforms and technology areas, driving risk identification, assessment, mitigation and escalation. Throughout the material life cycle, the Manager works cross-functionally to sustain and optimize supply, strengthen continuity and resilience, and improve cost, quality, service and overall supply performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Lead Technical & Next Generation Sourcing for assigned materials, product platforms and technologies, from early development and pre-commercial requirements through industrialization and commercial supply.

- Develop sourcing solutions for new-to-West materials, technologies and suppliers , as well as next-generation solutions jointly developed or industrialized with strategic suppliers.

- Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives including Make-vs-Buy assessments, market and supplier evaluations, EOI/RFx processes, business cases and supplier selection .

- Serve as the operational owner of Sourcing & Supply Risk Management for assigned areas, identifying and assessing supply risks, developing mitigation plans, coordinating mitigation activities and escalating significant risks.

- Drive Material Life Cycle Management from a sourcing and supply perspective, proactively sustaining and optimizing supply as requirements, technologies, markets and supplier capabilities evolve.

- Develop resilient and competitive supply solutions that balance continuity of supply, risk, Total Cost of Ownership, quality, service, capacity and scalability .

- Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Technical Services, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance and Category Management to translate technical and business requirements into effective sourcing and supply strategies.

- Monitor supplier markets, technology trends and cost drivers, and bring forward opportunities to strengthen supply resilience, innovation and long-term competitiveness .

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, Procurement or Supply Chain or equivalent qualification or professional accreditation.

Work Experience

- 5+ years of experience in a Global Multi-National GMP Sourcing and manufacturing environment executing sourcing projects.

- Experience sourcing direct materials. Experience across components, metals, chemicals, polymers, resins, packaging materials, fabricated parts, assemblies, or similar categories is advantageous.

- Experience working cross-functionally with Product Management, R&D, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Key sourcing, procurement, and project experience in GMP Pharma, Medical Device with demonstrated experience in delivery of MvB, EOI, RFx events, projects and related methods and process for Direct and / or Indirect Category Areas as well as Procurement Opex tactical sourcing projects.

- Service and issue orientated, ability to work within teams or independently and to deadlines.

- Demonstrated experience of project management methodology supporting cross-functional teams in delivery of sourcing solutions

- Adaptable to a multicultural environment, valuing diversity within a virtual global team environment.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, modelling, pivot tables, and reporting.

License and Certifications

- Formal certification in Project Management or similar preferred.

Travel Requirements

20%: Up to 52 business days per year

Pay Transparency:

The annual base salary range for this position is €81,000.00 - €103,100.00. Total target compensation is determined using objective and gender-neutral criteria, including relevant experience, qualifications, skills, market benchmarks, geographic location, and the scope and responsibilities of the role.

This position may be eligible for variable compensation and other incentive programs in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans within the country of employment. In addition, team members are eligible to participate in the company’s benefits and total rewards programs applicable to their location and employment status.
