Middle School Basketball Coach

Roland Park Country School located in Baltimore, MD is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Middle School Basketball Coach. As a school committed to educating and supporting the growth and development of each student, RPCS fosters an environment where students thrive by lifting each other up and leading for the greater good.

This is a part-time paid position that reports to the Director of Athletics and works closely with all members of the RPCS Athletic Department including the other Middle School Basketball Coaches and the Upper School Basketball Coaching Staff. The Athletic Department supports two Middle School teams (A and B); this position will work with the B team. The Middle School winter season begins November 16 and runs through the beginning of February. Middle School sports practices are held Monday through Thursday, 3:30-4:45pm. Competitions are also held Monday through Thursday; game times vary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Supports and executes the vision for the basketball program at RPCS as communicated by the Athletic Department and the Varsity Basketball Head Coach.

- Fosters strong relationships with the athletes and inspires them to achieve their best.

- Implements proven coaching techniques and approaches that result in continued growth and success of the program.

- Develops the skills of all of the basketball student-athletes in ways that prepare them for competition performance.

- Works in coordination with the athletic administrative team on scheduling, game day prep, uniforms, and facilities.

- A strong communicator with all constituencies.

- An enthusiastic supporter of all aspects of the RPCS community life including academics, arts and the entire athletic department.

- Other reasonable duties as assigned from time to time by the Director of Athletics.

Compensation and Benefits:

- Stipend : $2,000 for season (November - February)

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

- At least two years of athletic and competitive coaching experience in a middle school, high school, college, club, or professional setting.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Local travel may be required for games and other program-related activities.
