VARSITY SWIMMING ASSISTANT COACH

Roland Park Country School located in Baltimore, MD is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Varsity Swimming Assistant Coach. As a school committed to educating and supporting the growth and development of each student, RPCS fosters an environment where students thrive by lifting each other up and leading for the greater good.

This is a part-time paid position that reports to the Director of Athletics and the Varsity Swimming Head Coach. The Upper School swimming season begins November 9 and runs through February 7. Swim team practices are held 6:00-7:00am on weekdays with several afternoon practices and competitions throughout the season. A specific schedule can be provided to applicants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Supports and executes the vision for the Swimming program at RPCS as communicated by the Athletic Department and the Varsity Swimming Head Coach.

- Fosters strong relationships with the athletes and inspires them to achieve their best.

- Implements proven coaching techniques and approaches that result in continued growth and success of the program.

- Develops the skills of all of the student-athletes in ways that prepare them for competition performance.

- Works in coordination with the athletic administrative team on scheduling, game day prep, out of season workouts, uniforms, and facilities.

- A strong communicator with all constituencies.

- An enthusiastic supporter of all aspects of the RPCS community life including academics, arts and the entire athletic department.

- Other reasonable duties as assigned from time to time by the Directors of Athletics and/or the Varsity Swimming Head Coach.

Compensation and Benefits:

- Stipend : $2,500 for five days per week, full season

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

- At least two years of athletic and/or competitive coaching experience in a high school, college, or professional setting.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Local travel may be required for games and other program-related activities.
