Founding Full Stack Engineer

About the Role

This is a founding engineering role at an early-stage healthtech and AI-driven e-commerce company, where you will own the entire engineering function end to end. You will shape the product, architecture, and infrastructure from the ground up, working directly with the founding team to ship a consumer membership platform and expand into a mobile app and AI-powered tooling.

What You'll Do

- Build and launch a consumer membership web application on Shopify and Recharge, then own ongoing maintenance and improvements after launch.
- Monitor and optimize page speed, app performance, and third-party script and pixel behavior across the storefront.
- Keep tracking and consent tools properly configured and compliant with privacy regulations such as CPRA.
- Own engineering architecture, stack choices, security, vendor and contractor decisions, and the databases behind the membership platform.
- Lead iOS-first development of a consumer-facing React Native app from the ground up after the membership MVP ships.
- Build LLM-powered agents and internal tools that run unattended in production, complete with evals, monitoring, and human-in-the-loop safeguards.
- Leverage AI, automation, and low-code tools to reduce manual operational work across all functions.
- Tackle high-priority, ad-hoc problems directly with the CEO, moving fluidly between product and infrastructure decisions.

What We're Looking For

- 3 or more years of full-stack engineering experience shipping consumer products to production.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React, with shipped production applications.
- Proficiency in Python or Node.js with a track record of production-grade code.
- Hands-on experience with Shopify and Recharge integrations.
- Experience building and shipping consumer-facing React Native apps, ideally iOS-first.
- Demonstrated expertise in web performance optimization, including page speed, bundle size, and third-party script management.
- Experience making architectural decisions around databases, security, vendor selection, and engineering stack choices.
- Experience implementing privacy compliance tooling for tracking, consent management, and CPRA or GDPR-related data handling.
- Familiarity with building and deploying LLM-powered agents or AI automation tools, including monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a strong bias toward ownership and execution.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or equivalent demonstrated experience shipping software products.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $130,000 to $200,000 USD annually.
