ABOUT THE ROLE
SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring high quality of care for all individuals in the program and for assisting individuals to increase their independence and overall behavioral status. Provide leadership and direction for Behavior Techs in the Access Inpatient, Adult and Children Crisis Unit (CSU/CCSU), Detox, Res 1, 2, 4, and oversee daily tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
The Duties and Responsibilities reflect the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all related work assignments that may be inherent to the job.
- Master all skills and competencies of a Behavior Technician.
- Provide direct supervision, support and feedback regarding performance to all Behavior Techs.
- Collaborate with the Behavioral Tech Manager on the performance evaluation of Behavior Techs and recommend or participate in the positive direction process as appropriate.
- Maintain the appropriate staffing ratio through staff scheduling to include responding to any call-outs.
- Approve timecards and PTO requests.
- Assist in the onboarding process of new employees through training and modeling.
- Assist the Behavioral Tech Manager in all areas of the support plan process.
- Participate and assist in the assessment and development of programs to enhance and increase each person’s independence and improve overall behavioral status.
- Provide guidance during behavioral crises, ensuring that procedures are implemented according to approved behavior plans and crisis management protocols.
- Manage individual serve properties/possessions by accurately recording and storing.
- Ensure all required reports/documents are completed on time and complete documentation audits to ensure compliance in the areas of safety, behavior, central files, and daily communication logs.
- Assist in maintaining adequate accessible food and supplies for the residential units.
- Willingness to work variable hours (potential for days and weekends)
- Delegate details as appropriate.
- Manage case records to ensure that proper documentation meets standard of practice requirement.
- Ensure the consistency of clinical charting standards and requirements in the Access Inpatient, CSU/CCSU, Detox, and Res 1, 2, and 4.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications
CORE COMPETENCIES:
- Maturity and sensitivity to the special needs of PPBH clients while possessing the knowledge of behavioral health and medical conditions.
- Ability to provide crisis intervention/stabilization and aggressive behavior management to individuals served in a safe, culturally sensitive and gender specific manner.
- Ability to utilize and navigate an electronic health record.
- Ability to communicate needs of persons served and information to behavioral healthcare staff.
- Ability to utilize and navigate an electronic health record.
- Ability to communicate clearly about the needs of the program.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

- As a 24 hour facility you are required to be available 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
- High School graduate or G.E.D. Certificate.
- 2 + years of experience in mental health and lead or supervisory experience.
- Maturity and sensitivity to the special needs of the mentally ill population.
- Ability to assess needs of consumers.
- Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction supervision.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when necessary.
- Ability to read and interpret documents.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups or employees.
- Must have Intermediate to advanced experience in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), the use of personal computers, and standard office productivity software
REQUIREMENTS:
- A valid Class E Drivers’ License for positions that require driving personal or Agency vehicle on Agency business.
- Must maintain a minimum Bodily Injury & Property Liability insurance limit of at least $50,000 for positions that require driving personal own vehicle (POV) on Agency business. (Proof Required)
- PPBH is a 24/7 Agency. All employees must be available as needed when required.
