Shop Lead

Description

The Shop Lead is responsible for leading the production team assigned to a specific project. This is a hands-on role focused on custom builds, cabinetry, and exhibit fabrication. The Shop Lead works alongside the team to turn drawings and designs into high-quality, finished pieces while keeping the project on schedule.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead the shop team assigned to a specific project.
- Review project drawings and requirements before work begins.
- Assign daily tasks and keep the team focused on project priorities.
- Work alongside the team to fabricate and assemble project components.
- Monitor quality and ensure work meets project specifications.
- Communicate project progress, questions, or issues to the Shop Foreman.
- Help resolve production issues that arise during the project.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area.
- Ensure the project is completed on schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

- 3+ years of fabrication, exhibit, construction, or manufacturing experience.
- Previous leadership or lead experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and production documents.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to safely operate tools and production equipment.

Hourly rate dependent on candidate experience
