Job Title: Household Manager

Location: Charlotte, NC 28210

Employment Type: Part-Time, 14-21 hours per week - 14 hours guaranteed

Schedule: 7 hours per day, for 2-3 flexible days per week

Candidates will need to be available to let dogs out around 12pm

Flexibility for occasional house/pet sitting

Compensation: $25-30 per hour

Requirements

- Reliable transportation required
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Maintain a smoke-free environment
- Candidates are required to be up to date on recommended vaccinations in line with American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines (including measles and other baseline immunizations), subject to applicable legal accommodations
- Ability to navigate multiple levels throughout the day
- Ability to sign and adhere to a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement (NDA)
- Must be comfortable around dogs
- Spanish fluency preferred

About Our Family

We are a busy, professionally-driven couple based in Charlotte, though one of us also frequently spends time in Raleigh. Our schedules shift constantly — no two weeks look the same — and our home reflects that energy. We work hard and move fast, so we appreciate people who can keep up and stay one step ahead. We are in the process of laying a foundation for the way our home runs, and we could use support in putting structures and methods in place.

We are looking for someone who notices what needs to be done and jumps in without prompting. We may not always be physically present to oversee someone in our home, so we need someone who is independent and trustworthy. When we are home, we’d love to build a collaborative, flexible, and open-minded system together.

We have two dogs who will require some daily attention and midday exercise, but other than that, we are very flexible on when other household needs get done. We anticipate having children in the next few years; and as our family grows, there is significant potential for this role to grow as well. The ideal candidate will embrace that change and be comfortable adding childcare to their responsibilities in the future.

You thrive in environments where the plan changes, where you are expected to think ahead, and where you can move seamlessly between tasks without losing focus. You are a team player, but happy to take initiative and tackle projects on your own.

You are warm and easy to be around, but you understand that professionalism and discretion are non-negotiable. You can be trusted in a home when no one else is there, and you treat that trust seriously. Spanish fluency is a strong plus, and you are genuinely open to the possibility of taking on childcare responsibilities as our family grows. Long-term fit matters to us, and we are looking for someone who is looking for that too.

Weekly, we’re looking for 2-3 full days of support with home organization, pet care, meal prep, and laundry. Since our schedules are ever-changing, the ideal candidate is someone who leads with work ethic and adaptability. The quality and consistency of your work matters more than the specific hours you’re in the home — as long as things are done well, we will be happy to work together on timing. We need flexibility in this role, and are happy to offer the same to you.

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

- Create and maintain household organization systems
- Daily resets and prep home for cleaners
- Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas)
- Support in hanging art and seasonal décor swaps
- Assist with event, guest, and holiday prep
- Change batteries around the home as needed
- Indoor plant care as needed (if housesitting)

Pet Care

- Serve as the primary midday caregiver for two dogs, including walks or letting them outside
- Maintain free-grazing food and water bowls
- Schedule and coordinate vet and grooming appointments, including transport as needed
- Administer medications as directed
- Maintain and reorder pet supplies

Laundry & Linen Care

- Full laundry responsibility for all clothing, linens, and towels — washed, folded, and put away
- Coordinate dry cleaning drop-off and pickup
- Rotate bed linens and towels
- Keep laundry area tidy and well-stocked

Meal Planning & Prep

- Provide flexible meal prep support based on the household's week — frequency will vary
- Prepare easy, ready-to-heat, healthy meals when one partner is traveling
- Coordinate grocery shopping (in-store or via delivery app)
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and general upkeep
- Adhere strictly to household dietary restrictions and allergies (allergies to pine nuts, hazelnuts, almonds, and raw apples)

Inventory & Errands

- Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies via delivery apps
- Manage recurring household subscriptions and supply lists
- Manage returns and exchanges as needed
- Handle mail and package receiving and sorting; break down boxes
- Coordinate junk removal as needed

Vendor & Property Oversight

- Oversee cleaners, landscapers, and contractors during visits
- Research and coordinate new vendors and service providers
- Support upcoming renovation projects, including moving and returning items as work progresses

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

- Occasional deep cleans of the fridge, oven, baseboards, and similar areas
- Organizational projects (garage, closets, pantry)
- Refresh the mudroom and any other areas of clutter
- Change air purifiers regularly
- Polish silver as needed

Family Support

- Maintain awareness of household schedules to time meal prep and home readiness appropriately
- Coordinate with the family's professional schedulers as needed
- Open to taking on childcare-related responsibilities as the family grows
