Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Job Description The role involves working as a Pharmacy Technician within the MedPharm team, focusing on Medicare and Medicaid patients, primarily Medicare. The position requires handling Prior Authorizations (PAs) through two main functions: intake and Tech Review. Responsibilities
- Manage the intake process of MedPharm prior authorizations by setting up PAs in the system and forwarding them to a review technician.
- Conduct Tech Reviews by receiving PA cases from the intake team, reviewing them for coverage, and making clinical determinations on medication approvals or denials.
- Read and interpret criteria, SOPs, insurance documents, and medical documents to determine patient eligibility.
Essential Skills
- Pharmacy Technician certification
- Experience with managed care and claims
- Proficiency in data entry
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Strong computer skills
- Customer service skills, particularly over the phone
- Experience in handling Prior Authorizations
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to handle customer calls effectively, manage conversations, and redirect when necessary
- Pharmacy experience

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Philadelphia, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
