Job Title: Mechanical Detailer / CAD Designer Job Description This role supports a growing research and development team by creating precise 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings, assemblies, and engineering documentation for large-scale industrial equipment. You will work closely with engineers to translate concepts into production-ready designs and support new product development projects from initial idea through to manufacturing. The position suits someone who enjoys a fast-paced engineering environment and is proficient with Creo or SolidWorks. Responsibilities

- Create and modify detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Creo or SolidWorks.
- Develop and maintain complete engineering documentation, including detailed drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and design revisions.
- Support engineers in the design and development of new products and large industrial equipment.
- Detail large mechanical assemblies and components to ensure they are ready for manufacturing.
- Ensure all drawings comply with established engineering standards and manufacturing requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to identify and resolve design issues.
- Incorporate engineering change requests and revisions into existing designs in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist with prototype and product development activities within the R&D group.
- Apply mechanical design principles and drafting standards to produce clear, accurate, and manufacturable drawings.
- Interpret engineering concepts and guidance to develop complete, detailed designs suitable for fabrication and assembly.

Essential Skills

- Associates degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency with Creo or SolidWorks for 3D modeling and detailing.
- Strong 3D modeling and mechanical detailing experience for industrial or mechanical products.
- Experience creating detailed manufacturing drawings and assemblies, including dimensions, tolerances, and annotations.
- Understanding of mechanical design principles and industry-standard drafting practices.
- Ability to interpret engineering concepts and requirements and translate them into detailed designs and drawings.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness in all documentation.
- Solid organizational skills to manage multiple design tasks, revisions, and documentation.
- Experience using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar 3D design software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment and support projects from concept through production.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience supporting research and development or new product development projects.
- Experience designing and detailing weldments, sheet metal components, and large assemblies.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and fabrication techniques relevant to industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with engineering change management processes and tools.
- Experience with mechanical design, drafting, and detailing in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and project teams.
- Interest in contributing to continuous improvement of design practices, standards, and documentation.

This is a Contract position based out of Ooltewah, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
