About this role

Description

AWS Brand & Creative is on a mission to establish AWS as the world’s undisputed leader in AI and technology: shaping how customers, developers, and prospective customers perceive, trust, and choose AWS. We are seeking an Advertising Brand Manager who pairs strong business execution with a genuine hunger for world-class creative work and brand fame.
This is the primary business owner for a portfolio of AWS advertising campaigns spanning sports partnerships, brand, and product. You will run campaigns end to end: from strategy alignment through creative development, production, trafficking, and post-campaign measurement across broadcast, digital, social, streaming, and out-of-home. You will drive perception shifts and upper-funnel metrics, creating breakthrough moments that elevate brand consideration and awareness of AWS as a leader in AI.

The right candidate moves fluidly between campaign strategy and hands-on delivery. They have the business rigor to manage complex campaign operations and budgets, and the creative taste to discern sharp strategy, defend bold ideas, and sell in strong creative work. They operate independently with limited guidance in relationship-driven environments where the strategy for an individual campaign or partnership may not yet be defined.

Key job responsibilities
• Own end-to-end activation of a portfolio of advertising campaigns across sports partnerships, brand, and product, delivering top-of-funnel awareness work that drives measurable perception shifts among business decision-makers, developers, builders, and technical leaders.
• Manage the full campaign lifecycle: strategy alignment, creative development, production, trafficking, and post-campaign evaluation across broadcast, digital, social, streaming, and out-of-home channels.
• Champion creative excellence: push strategy and creative partners to deliver breakthrough work that earns cultural attention and builds lasting brand fame.
• Proactively identify opportunities for brand growth and develop campaign plans that ladder to organizational objectives, including shifting perception of AWS as a leader in AI.
• Own the full lifecycle of all mass advertising campaigns for AWS sports partnerships, currently NFL, NBA/WNBA, and F1, from strategy through creative development, production, trafficking, and post-campaign evaluation.
• Define and execute partnership activation strategy that shows the contextual impact AWS is powering for each league or media partner, balancing scale and customization across placements.
• Serve as the primary brand interlock with the Sports Partnerships Marketing Team, ensuring sports activations and campaigns align with brand foundations and perception-shift goals.
• Manage partnership relationships, contract deliverables, and activation timelines; negotiate resources and influence partner teams’ roadmaps to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery.
• Serve as the day-to-day business relationship owner for external creative and production agency partners across the campaign portfolio.
• Manage creative production workflows, budget and PO management, localization, and multi-channel delivery across leagues, brand, and product campaigns and multiple markets.
• Set and hold a high creative bar with agency partners: provide sharp, structured feedback through clear briefs and rigorous post-campaign performance evaluations.
• Support agency RFI/RFP processes including scope definition and onboarding for campaigns within the portfolio.
• Own and manage the advertising budget for the campaign portfolio with accountability for spend optimization, ROI, and financial compliance.

A day in the life
No two days look the same in this role, but most blend the science and art of building brand campaigns. You might start the morning in a working session with your creative agency, pressure-testing a new NFL campaign concept and giving sharp, structured feedback to push the work from good to breakthrough. By midday you're deep in the numbers: reconciling production POs, refining the doc for an upcoming incremental investment request, and prepping the campaign status narrative for an upcoming QBR with senior leaders. In the afternoon you interlock with the Sports Partnerships Marketing team to align an F1 activation to brand foundations, then jump to a measurement review with Customer Research to connect awareness and perception lift back to the CMO's AI-leadership goal. You close the day developing the full working backwards schedule for the internal team, negotiating agency partner's delivery timeline, and experimenting with an AI workflow that shaves days off your next production cycle. Throughout, you move fluidly between strategy and hands-on delivery, owning your portfolio end to end and creating the moments that shift how the world perceives AWS.
