Job Description

The Platform performing arts center is a new venture located in Kendall Square, offering ample opportunities for experienced bar staff. We're looking for a skilled and friendly bartender who enjoys engaging with regular customers and talking about the arts.

Working Hours (Seasonally Variable)

Part-time (4 hr minimum).

~2-3 days a week, Monday – Saturday (3:00PM – 12:00AM with some flexibility).

Includes some holidays.

Compensation

$10/hr + shared tips.

Responsibilities

- Mix alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks using house developed recipes

- Engaging with Head Bartender and Food and Beverage Manager to develop new recipes

- Greeting and interacting with guests in a hospitable way

- Checking IDs to verify legal drinking age

- Processing cash and credit card payments via POS system

- Monitor guest alcohol intake and enforce liquor laws

- Set up, clean and maintain bars before, during and after each shift

- Supporting in house events and the concession bar for the theater

Qualifications

- 2-4 years of bartending experience

- Experience working as a bartender in a cocktail bar setting

- TIPS on premises alcohol service certification

- Familiarity with POS systems such as Square or Toast

- Ability to lift 30+ lbs

Preferred but Not Required Qualifications

- Allergen safe certification

- Front-of-house service experience

- An interest in global dance, music, and art
