Aloha Affordable Veterinary Services is looking for an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our team of compassionate professionals in Aiea, HI. We’re committed to providing high-quality veterinary care at an affordable cost to our community, and our reception team plays an essential role in making that mission possible.
Our receptionists are among our most valued team members. From welcoming clients and keeping the day organized to supporting clear communication between pet owners and the medical team, you’ll help create a positive experience for every person and pet who walks through our doors. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with rescue groups and animals in need from throughout Oahu while enjoying a four-day workweek and a team that knows how important life outside of work is, too.

What You’ll Do
- Welcome clients and patients with professionalism, warmth, and compassion
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the client experience
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist clients with questions and requests
- Schedule and coordinate veterinary appointments
- Help maintain an organized and efficient reception area and daily workflow
- Communicate clearly with clients, veterinarians, and veterinary support staff
- Maintain accurate client and patient information and records
- Support clients with compassion and professionalism, including during stressful or emotional situations
- Use a basic understanding of animal behavior and veterinary care to support effective client communication
- Multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy veterinary environment
- Work independently on assigned responsibilities while also taking direction from hospital leadership and team members
- Follow oral and written instructions accurately
- Collaborate with teammates to create a positive experience for clients and patients
- Support the hospital’s work with rescue organizations and animals in need
- Contribute to an innovative, supportive, and fun-loving team environment
What You’ll Bring
- Previous veterinary reception or relevant veterinary client service experience
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and accept direction when needed
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Basic understanding of animal behavior and veterinary health care
- A genuine passion for working with animals and their owners
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and veterinary team members
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate patient records
- A compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented approach
- Ability to remain organized and productive in a busy veterinary environment
- Availability to work the rotating four-day schedule
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform the physical responsibilities associated with a busy veterinary hospital environment
