Senior FHIR & Interoperability Test Engineer (Remote Opportunity)

We are currently looking for a Senior FHIR & Interoperability Test Engineer for a 100% remote position supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project. This role will provide centralized technical assistance and support for healthcare facilities, vendors, developers, and integration partners using deployed interoperability and integration services. The specialist will troubleshoot integration, connectivity, configuration, onboarding, and data-exchange issues across EHR, HIE, FHIR, API, interface, and related healthcare integration services.

The role operates in a highly collaborative environment, working with system users, technical stakeholders, vendors, partner organizations, engineering teams, onboarding teams, testing teams, and platform teams to identify root causes, coordinate resolutions, validate fixes, and support successful adoption of deployed services.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities

- Provide centralized technical assistance and support for healthcare facilities, vendors, developers, and integration partners using deployed interoperability and integration services.
- Troubleshoot integration, connectivity, configuration, onboarding, and data-exchange issues and coordinate resolution with engineering, onboarding, testing, and platform teams.
- Communicate with system users, technical stakeholders, vendors, and partner organizations to define issues, isolate root causes, and deliver or coordinate appropriate technical solutions.
- Support EHR, HIE, FHIR, API, interface, and related healthcare integration services, including validation and testing as needed to confirm issue resolution and system readiness.
- Maintain the technical knowledge base, troubleshooting procedures, support documentation, known-issue records, and resolution guidance.
- Document defects, fixes, configuration changes, and recurring support issues for operational reference and continuous improvement, while supporting training and user adoption activities.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field and 7+ years of related professional experience.
- Extensive experience providing technical support and troubleshooting for complex software, systems, integration, or healthcare technology environments.
- Experience troubleshooting healthcare interoperability technologies, including EHR, HIE, FHIR, APIs, interfaces, and data-exchange services.
- Strong experience with root cause analysis, connectivity troubleshooting, configuration support, defect resolution, and validation testing.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to research technical issues and communicate clear resolution steps.
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills with the ability to support technical and non-technical stakeholders, vendors, and partner organizations.

Additional Qualifications

- Experience supporting healthcare integration platforms, interface engines, APIs, FHIR services, or other interoperability technologies.
- Experience with knowledge base management, technical documentation, troubleshooting procedures, known-issue tracking, and operational support processes.
- Experience supporting facility and vendor onboarding, technical training, user adoption, and remote technical assistance.
- Experience supporting federal healthcare programs or working with government healthcare organizations such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Health and Human Services, or Defense Health Agency is preferred.

- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- All selected candidates must successfully complete a background check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including required fingerprinting, when required for the position.
