Senior Healthcare Interoperability Onboarding Engineer (Remote Opportunity)

We are currently looking for a Healthcare Integration Onboarding Lead for a 100% remote position supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project. This role leads the technical onboarding of healthcare facilities, vendors, and integration partners into an enterprise integration environment, from readiness assessment through production transition. The work spans secure connectivity, EHR interfaces, data exchange, and implementation documentation.

The position works closely with facility technical teams, EHR vendors, integration engineers, FHIR engineers, testers, and other partners. The successful candidate will work autonomously on complex onboarding efforts and may provide technical leadership to the work group.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities

- Assess facility and partner systems, interfaces, dependencies, and integration requirements to identify onboarding needs, risks, and readiness gaps.
- Execute onboarding activities, including credentialing, mTLS enrollment, secure connectivity, and interface configuration.
- Coordinate with facility teams, EHR vendors, engineers, testers, and integration partners to resolve connectivity, configuration, data-exchange, and deployment issues.
- Support synthetic rehearsals, integration validation, parallel runs, cutover preparation, and production transition.
- Develop repeatable onboarding procedures, technical runbooks, checklists, and implementation documentation for the Onboarding Toolkit and Implementation Guide.
- Troubleshoot onboarding issues, document resolutions, and transfer knowledge to support secure and repeatable production onboarding.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree and 10 or more years of related experience in technical integration, enterprise application integration, or healthcare interoperability.
- Experience assessing onboarding readiness, technical dependencies, interface requirements, and integration risks.
- Experience configuring secure connectivity and interfaces, including credentialing and mTLS enrollment.
- Experience supporting integration testing, synthetic rehearsals, parallel runs, cutovers, and production transitions.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills across technical and nontechnical teams.
- Ability to work autonomously on complex projects and coordinate effectively with facility teams, vendors, engineers, and testers.

Additional Qualifications

- Experience integrating EHR systems or supporting Health Information Exchange (HIE), FHIR, or HL7 workflows.
- Experience with API integration, XML, JSON, SQL, data mapping, or data-flow analysis.
- Experience supporting federal healthcare programs or developing onboarding toolkits and implementation guides.

Security Clearance Requirements

- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- All selected candidates must successfully complete a background check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including required fingerprinting, when required for the position.
