The Opportunity:

Aircraft survivability equipment and countermeasures systems are critical technologies that provide the last line of defense for U.S. and allied pilots flying missions in harm’s way. Booz Allen needs your skills and dedication to protecting our military aviators through the sustainment and technical support to today's fielded systems, as well as performing research and development of next generation aircraft countermeasures systems and capabilities. You will play an integral role in designing, developing, testing, and fielding the complex hardware and software involved to deliver exceptional battlefield overmatch.

In this role, you will apply your skills in software development, software-hardware interactions, test equipment programming, and hardware emulation and develop expertise in how these technologies interact to deliver critical defense system capabilities. You will work in a Government test facility to perform hands-on sustainment of currently fielded aircraft survivability equipment, including the air countermeasures dispensing system and its associated software, hardware, and test fixtures. You will develop software, configure hardware, and perform testing to confirm system performance.

In this role you will provide software development, test equipment design, and support to fielded system operators of the ALE-47 Countermeasures Dispensing System and its associated test software and hardware. You will interact with US and Allied operators, troubleshoot production or test system issues, and develop improvements that meet their needs.

You Have:

- 10+ years of experience performing software development and hardware testing of fielded and in-production U.S military systems such as avionics systems, control systems, or countermeasures dispensing systems
- 10+ years of experience in software and firmware programming languages such as C, C++, 8051 Assembly, Python, or ADA
- 10+ years of experience working as part of a US Government and contractor engineering team, communicating and thinking critically about mission objectives, and identifying potential development pathways that could meet program needs
- Experience applying modern software development best practices and techniques to develop and configure software, analyze and resolve bugs and defects, and develop associated technical manuals and codebase documentation
- Experience maintaining multiple software and test equipment configurations concurrently to meet different fielded platform versions and requirements
- Experience with hardware emulation systems, test equipment, developing test hardware and software, performing testing and identifying necessary changes to production software
- Experience working in a US Government test facility, developing trusted relationships with stakeholders across an engineering team, and leading the development of production software modifications that meet mission needs
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science

Nice If You Have:

- Experience with the ALE-47 Countermeasures Dispensing System
- Experience with US Navy aircraft Electronic Warfare systems
- Experience providing technical and engineering support to Foreign Military Sales operators of ALE-47 or related countermeasures or electronic warfare system equipment
- Experience designing and utilizing test equipment to program and diagnose ALE-47 system performance
- Experience creating and testing modules and components for compliance to design specifications
- Experience developing and testing interfaces between software products and products of other vendors
- Possession of professionalism, work ethic, and integrity
- Secret clearance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
