Job Title: Insurance Coordinator Job Description
This role focuses on supporting patients during their treatment window by providing educational assistance and patient support in both English and Spanish. The position involves educating patients on insurance plan options, specifically Medicare Advantage and Insurance Education and Premium Support. Responsibilities include reviewing educational handouts, assisting with eligibility paperwork, and ensuring patient understanding of insurance options.
Responsibilities
- Meet with identified patients during their treatment window to provide support and education in English and Spanish.
- Review insurance plan options with patients, focusing on Medicare Advantage.
- Connect patients with independent insurance brokers for enrollment support.
- Support patients in completing eligibility paperwork and document completion for insurance.
- Engage in administrative tasks that require direct interaction with patients in Kidney Care clinics.
- Organize paperwork and maintain detailed notes on patient engagement activities.
- Participate in daily virtual meetings with the supervisor/team and provide daily patient contact reports.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
- Ability to travel between different clinics in an assigned geography.
- Comfortable with direct patient interactions in a healthcare clinic setting.
- Strong organizational skills for managing paperwork and patient notes.
- Basic understanding of health insurance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with customer service and insurance verification is preferred.
- Familiarity with insurance support processes.
Work Environment
This position is a non-clinical, field-based role situated within clinics. The initial support engagement is expected to last 60-90 days from mid-October through mid-December, with potential for extension into 2027. There is an opportunity for transition into a full-time Insurance Coordinator role. Traditional business hours apply. The role requires travel to different locations across Texas, including Austin, North Houston, West Texas, San Antonio, The Valley, and Laredo.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
