Culinary Team Member – Prep Cook

Down to Earth Cuisine delivers restaurant-quality, family-friendly meals straight to people's doorsteps around Seattle — real menus, crafted by our chefs, built around taste and nourishment for busy households. We're growing our Tukwila kitchen team and looking for a Prep Cook to help power our weekend production.

The weekly cycle:

- Friday: Prep ingredients

- Saturday: Cook and package all meals

- Sunday: Meals go out for delivery

Pay & hours: $22–$24/hour depending on experience. Part-time, 15–25 hours/week to start, with room for adjustment based on business needs and performance. Work days are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Hourly, non-exempt.

What you'll do:

- Cook from standardized recipes, keeping taste, presentation, and quality consistent

- Make sure ingredients are fresh and properly handled

- Portion and package meals to spec for distribution

- Keep your workspace clean and organized throughout

- Work alongside the kitchen team to hit dietary compliance and quality standards on every batch

- Occasionally support dining events or catering as needed

What you bring:

- 1–2 years of cooking experience in a high-volume professional kitchen

- Solid grasp of food safety regulations, dietary restrictions, and cooking techniques

- Ability to follow recipes precisely and adjust for portion size or dietary needs

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle

- Food Safety/Sanitation or culinary certification a plus, not required

Kitchen tools you'll use: Commercial ovens, grills, fryers, and mixers; knives and standard culinary tools; inventory tracking, labeling, and packaging equipment.
