Job Title: Clinical Research Data Coordinator Job Description The Clinical Data Coordinator provides direct clinical and data management support for oncology clinical trials, focusing on accurate collection, entry, and reporting of study-related data for an assigned disease team. Using independent judgment and strong decision-making skills, this role manages clinical trial data, supports monitoring activities, and coordinates patient scheduling while ensuring compliance with regulatory and institutional requirements. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and the opportunity to contribute to impactful cancer research in a mission-driven, academic medical environment. Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive clinical and data management support for oncology clinical trials within an assigned disease team or therapeutic area.
- Enter, review, and maintain accurate and timely clinical trial data in electronic data capture (EDC) systems and sponsor databases, ensuring completeness and data integrity.
- Independently abstract, create, and maintain study participants research records, ensuring all required data are collected, source verified, and appropriately documented.
- Coordinate patient and study participant care from recruitment through off-treatment and follow-up phases, including scheduling and verifying study-related appointments and procedures.
- Support and prepare for monitoring visits by ensuring that study records, source documents, and regulatory files are accurate, complete, and inspection-ready.
- Collaborate with clinical, research, and administrative staff to ensure smooth trial operations and adherence to protocol requirements and timelines.
- Apply knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), HIPAA, IRB, and institutional policies to maintain regulatory compliance and protect patient privacy.
- Work closely with study sponsors and their representatives, providing requested data, clarifications, and documentation in a professional and timely manner.
- Manage multiple trials and tasks concurrently, prioritizing responsibilities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and study information and uphold high standards of professionalism, reliability, and attendance.
- Utilize electronic medical records and clinical trial management systems to track patient visits, procedures, and data collection requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of data management processes and workflows to support the integrity and efficiency of clinical trial operations.

Essential Skills

- Two years of related work experience in clinical research, data management, or a similar role in the same job family, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in clinical research, clinical data management, or a comparable role; open to candidates with clinical research coordinator experience who wish to move away from direct patient-facing work.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to utilize electronic medical databases and electronic health record systems, including experience with EPIC.
- Ability to coordinate patient and study participant care from recruitment through off-treatment and follow-up, including scheduling and verifying appointments.
- Proven ability to independently and accurately abstract, create, and maintain study participants research records, ensuring all required data are collected, source verified, and entered into sponsor databases.
- Strong understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles and completion of GCP training.
- Knowledge of federal regulations related to HIPAA and IRB requirements as they apply to clinical research.
- Impeccable interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently while remaining self-motivated.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, manage a broad variety of duties, and adapt to shifting priorities in a changing environment.
- Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and being organized, thorough, and detail-oriented in all aspects of work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience coordinating, planning, or working in a high-volume, multi-task environment.
- Experience working in a clinical trials setting, particularly within oncology, is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Oracle-based systems and electronic data capture platforms, including Medidata Rave (primary EDC) and ONCORE.
- Experience using clinical trial management systems and regulatory tracking tools.
- Experience working with study sponsor personnel and external monitors is a plus.
- Knowledge of regulatory processes and documentation related to clinical research.
- Professional appearance, polished communication skills, and a strong attendance record.
- Interest in supporting oncology research and contributing to advancements in cancer care.
- Eligibility to work in a remote or hybrid capacity in approved states, as defined by organizational policy.

Work Environment This role operates in a hybrid work environment, with two days per week on site and the remaining time worked remotely, subject to organizational policies and approved locations. The position supports an academic medical centers cancer research program and involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams in research, finance, and compliance. The work relies heavily on electronic systems, including electronic medical records (such as EPIC), clinical trial management systems (such as ONCORE), and electronic data capture platforms (such as Medidata Rave and Oracle-based tools). The environment is high-volume and fast-paced, requiring comfort with managing multiple studies and priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and regulatory compliance. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Haven, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.83/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
