Lab Technician

Description

Perform chemical, physical, and instrumental testing on raw materials, in-process, finished, and customer product samples, including volumetric and gravimetric analyses, pH measurement, FTIR, SPG, RI, and other instrumental techniques.
Conduct functional testing such as IACS and thermal conductivity as needed.
Follow written analytical procedures, validate established methods, and troubleshoot testing procedures to ensure product quality.
Collect, enter, review, and validate data in WinLIMS or similar data management systems; perform calculations and submit results to QC Supervisor/Manager for approval.
Communicate sample status and results effectively to Quality, Production, and R&D teams.
Maintain accurate laboratory documentation including SOPs, test methods, protocols, deviations, batch records, and COAs.
Handle hazardous materials safely, maintain proper storage and disposal, and follow all site safety and chemical hygiene protocols.
Troubleshoot basic process issues and escalate appropriately

B.S. Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or related field
One or more of the following: Materials testing background, experience working with metals, QC background, lab experience (academia
Basic computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ability to log process data
Familiarity with statistical analysis software such as Minitab is a plus
Ability to work in a team environment, follow instructions, communicate effectively.
Hands-on, good time management skills
Strong attention to detail; focus on process control, documentation, maintaining quality.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
