About the role
As a Certified Drainlayer, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality drainage and civil construction works as part of our Whangarei Construction team. Your day-to-day duties will include:
Installing drainage pipelines, sumps, and associated infrastructure
Operating excavators and other earthmoving plant
Carrying out earthworks, road construction, and maintenance activities
Reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and specifications
Completing daily plant inspections and maintenance checks
Monitoring productivity and supporting successful project delivery
Maintaining accurate records, including timesheets and plant utilisation
Working safely and identifying hazards to protect your team and the public
About you
Certified Drainlayer qualification
5+ years' experience in drainage installation, earthworks, or civil construction
PGDB certification
Strong understanding of drainage and infrastructure construction practices
Ability to read plans and construction drawings
Experience operating excavators and other civil construction plant
Class 2 NZ Driver Licence with WTR endorsement preferred
Strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
