The Vehicle Detailing and Reconditioning position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance and condition of dealership vehicles through interior and exterior detailing, reconditioning, paint correction, and protective coating services. This position requires strong attention to detail, safe work practices, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Complete all required detailing and safety training and follow proper procedures when using chemicals, tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Inspect vehicles to identify interior and exterior imperfections, including scratches, stains, oxidation, water spots, fallout, paint defects, and other areas requiring attention.

- Perform exterior reconditioning services, including:

Fallout removal

- Water-spot removal

- Surface decontamination

- Light polishing and restoration

- Perform interior reconditioning services, including:

Cleaning upholstery, carpets, plastics, and other interior surfaces

- Applying interior dressings and protectants

- Removing minor stains and buildup

- Safely remove automotive window tint and adhesive residue.

- Prepare vehicle surfaces and properly apply Quantum Ceramic Coating according to product and company standards.

- Perform minor paint correction to reduce light scratches, swirl marks, oxidation, and other minor paint imperfections.

- Complete a final quality-control inspection to ensure work meets Tony Group standards before releasing the vehicle.

- Properly maintain detailing tools, equipment, products, and work areas.

- Immediately report vehicle damage, safety concerns, equipment issues, or services outside the associates skill level to management.

- Follow all Tony Group safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.

- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills

- Ability to safely operate car-wash, detailing, and reconditioning equipment.

- Basic knowledge of automotive paint, interior materials, cleaning chemicals, and reconditioning products.

- Ability to recognize vehicle imperfections and determine the appropriate corrective service.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent, high-quality work.

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced dealership environment.

- Willingness to complete all required safety, product, and operational training.

- Previous automotive detailing, car-wash, reconditioning, or dealership experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and work around vehicles for extended periods.

- Ability to lift and safely carry detailing supplies, tools, and equipment.

- Ability to perform repetitive movements associated with washing, polishing, cleaning, and detailing vehicles.

- Ability to work in wet, hot, humid, and outdoor conditions as required.

- Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and reconditioning products while using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
